    Hi,

I′ve installed the Genesis Simple Menus plugin and although activated, for some reason, doesn′t appear under Dashboard -> Genesis -> … even if the the Secondary Navigation is enabled in the Genesis Theme Settings / Yet I can see it under Dashboard -> Post or Page -> Secondary Navigation!

My second issue: Is there any possibility to let the plugin pick the primary menu instead of the secondary one?

I′ll be grateful for your help ??

From the readme, Simple Menus allows you to set the secondary menu…

on a per post, per page, or per tag/category archive basis

What exactly are you expecting will show up on the Genesis Settings page?

Yes, it’s possible to customize the plugin to do the primary menu instead of the secondary.

Oh, I though that after I install it that it would appear Dashboard / Genesis for settings, but obviously I misunderstood it..

Can you please tell me how to change the code to do the primary menu instead of the secondary. I′ve been trying to do that in the simple-menu.php since a while now but I messed it up each time ;(

Thank you for taking the time to address my issue ??

Edit/ The only time I (think) didn′t mess it, is when I changed “secondary” into “Primary” in the plugin php-file: I could see that the title of the drop-down menu (post, page..) changed from Secondary to Primary, but it took no effect in the front-end although all the needed menus are set. (I hope this is understandable, my english is bad)

You set the default secondary menu for your site in the Themes -> Menus screen. Simple Menus allows you to set a different menu from that selection in the locations listed in the readme.

I guess there′s a misunderstanding due to my bad english + newbie ;(
I have read the “read me” yet this didn′t solve my problem..
    Let me try again:
I have the (#nav ul) as my primary menu (#header ul.menu) as my secondary menu, if this is the right description.

The primary menu is the one I want to use GSM for. (as the secondary menu contains only: about, blog, contact..)

In my “appearance-> menus” I′ve set all the needed menus (and under-menus?)
    Here′s a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/NcoFn.jpg

and I can also see and choose those in the drop-down menu while editing a page for example: https://i.imgur.com/kUjSe.jpg
    Yet this shows no effect.

As I mentioned before, I′ve changed “secondary” into “Primary” in the plugin php-file (if that′s of any importance!?)

Thank you for bearing with me ??

well, I guess I′ll have to find the solution somewhere else.

    Thank you anyway!

I′ve installed the plugin on another website which is online (the first one was locally installed) and it has the same issue!! It seems to me like if the plugin is broken.

Did someone else of you guys have the same problem??

In regard to your last post in the other thread:

do you really mean: taking advantage from the “support” option on the WP forum and asking others for help

The only person who is likely to ever answer any thread here tagged with a plugin where I am author is me. Same applies to almost all plugins. The exception to that is that some of the really popular ones do have third parties answer threads.

If you are looking for someone from the SP community who may have made the modifications you are looking for try posting on https://www.studiopress.com/forums/.

    Thank you for the hint.

I did that as well ??

Since you posted there that you found a solution, I’ll mark this thread as resolved.
