Primary Menu Issue using a Sub Menu attachment

I created submenu by indenting the desired page to be a submenu. I’ve published the change, it doesn’t work. I get the carot to show there’s a sub menue but when I click on the page the link fades into the background and doesn’t bring up the subpage. What am I not doing right?
I did search the forum for help but the only answer I found was to review the word-press-php-file i think); anyway I don’t know script so if I found this file I wouldn’t know what to do.
I checked with Dreamhost and they suggested that the issue may be an X-blog problem. I”m a newbee and am kinda lost. Hope you can help.
