My Primary Sidebar and Secondary Sidebar display on the Primary sidebar of my page. This happens when I add or change things on the sidebars. Any ideas?

  • Hi jklarich. Welcome to the Hueman forum. Changing the widgets in the sidebars shouldn’t cause the individual page layouts to change. You can set the page layouts globally, by page type or on individual pages. If you have an example of the issue please post a link to your site and describe where it’s happening.

Here is my site. https://grangerwashington.org/ These worked for awhile correctly then the kept switching from the secondary to primary side bar below my normal widgets on the primary side bar. I tried some things to make it work but they keep moving.

It appears that the page layout you have selected on the home page is with two sidebars with the content in the middle. However, since the secondary sidebar isn’t displayed, I’d guess that in Customize > Dynamic Sidebars > Secondary > Context(s) does not include Home.

So I switched from my child theme to the main Hueman Theme and the Primary/Secondary Sidebars have widgets assigned to them but the do not display. I can see the color I have chosen for the background of the sidebars at the very top in a small strip. It is like the gray background is actually covering my primary and secondary sidebars. Here is my site: https://grangerwashington.org/

    What is the next step?

The secondary sidebar isn’t being covered up; it’s not being displayed. Check Customize > Dynamic Sidebars > Secondary > Context(s) and see if Home is listed there.

Ok I have the Secondary Side Bar populated with widgets that I want. It has home and pages in its context(s) area. The Primary Side Bar isn’t displaying. When I add home or pages or home to the Context for the Primary it populates the Primary Side Bar with my widgets I want there but it also makes the Secondary Side Bar move from the left Secondary Area to below the Primary Side Bar widgets and it is indented a little.

When I have neither pages nor home in the context for the Primary Side Bar the area says:

No widget zones available in this sidebar.

You can add Widget Areas here from the customizer, in the Dynamic Sidebars and Widgets panel, or you can change the layout to remove this sidebar in Content ? Layout Options for the main content.

makes the Secondary Side Bar move from the left Secondary Area to below the Primary Side Bar widgets and it is indented a little.

This is most likely a conflict with a plugin.

No widget zones available in this sidebar.

This will be displayed in the Customizer preview if you’re previewing a page that is not included in the Context(s) option.

Disabled all my plug-ins and the problem persists. I have both the Primary and Secondary Sidebars assigned for the home and pages in context and this is how it displays. Here is my website: https://grangerwashington.org/

I’m lost on what to try next.
