    Hi.

    To test the issue :
    https://www.agnosys.com/services/recuperation-de-donnees-demande

I’m trying to print from a Mac and an iOS device and I get different results.
From an iPhone, I need to set the Pause Before Print option so the printing action does not fail. The issue with this easy workaround does not exist on the iPad.

    But there’s still a problem.
If the Close After Print option is enabled, the situation is correct from the Mac. Once the printing is sent, the extra printing window is closed. Nice.
But if the option is enabled, the printing preview does not display correctly on an iOS device and the printing is empty.
For now I leave the option enabled thinking that the majority of users will print from a computer.
Is it a known limitation ?

    Best regards.
    Franck.

    Hello Franck,

Sorry for the delay, it took awhile to find and charge up an iPad, but we managed!
We tested the link you provided using Chrome on iPad without any issue, but this is because the Close after Print option is not enabled.

So then we set up a test here:
    https://spacedonkey.de/2592/ultimate-print-o-matic-form-elements-test/

And it seemed to work just fine.
Can you verify that the spacedonkey test is working on your end with your devices?

    Hi.
With the link you provide :
    – Safari iOS : preview OK – no close after print
    – Firefox iOS : no preview – no close after print
    – Chrome iOS : preview OK – no close after print
    – Safari macOS : preview OK – no close after print
    – Firefox macOS : preview OK – no close after print
The challenge is to have both the “preview OK” and the “close after print” option enabled.
    Best regards.
    Franck.

OK, we again have activated Print-O-Matic on our test server.
    https://spacedonkey.de/2592/ultimate-print-o-matic-form-elements-test/
Please click on the “Print Standard HTML Form” link after the first form.

We have tested on all devices and browsers and the preview is correct even with close after print. If you are still having issues on your server, what do you have set up as your pause before print time in the plugin settings?

We use this server to also test print-pro-matic, so please let us know once you have tested so we don’t deactivate print-o-matic by accident.

    Hi.
I’m actually using your URL :
    https://spacedonkey.de/2592/ultimate-print-o-matic-form-elements-test/
With an iPhone and an iPad with macOS 10.3.1, the preview is grey.
    I made the screenshots.
How are you able to have a good preview as soon as we are using the same URL and the same “Print Standard HTML Form” link” ?
    Best regards.

What exactly do you mean by:

    the preview is grey

What exactly do you mean by:

    a good preview

best to provide links to your screenshots that clearly explain what you mean by a ‘grey’, ‘good’ and ‘bad’ preview.

    Do you see now ?
The preview is grey and at printing, the paper (or the PDF for a virtual printer) is blank.
    Best regards.

Which browser is the above screenshot from?
We tested (a third time) on Chrome and Safari on an iPad and the preview is fine.
Have you tested on another iPad to verify it’s not localized to your device?

It is Safari Mobile (iOS 10.3.1)

Ah HA! We just updated the iOS and it’s definitely due to the latest version of iOS, and only on Safari. We’ll do some research and get back to you. Sorry for the confusion, but now that we can finally replicate the issue on our end, we shold find a solution soon.

OK! The issue was that Safari needed time to load the preview before the tab is closed. Please check our test link again, and if you can verify that it works correctly, we’ll push a release candidate to github.

Thank you for your feedback and patience on this issue.

I need more time to test but it seems that it is not ok with Firefox iOS. The “about:blank” page is white and there’s no printing dialog.

We just tested this with FireFox for iOS and you are correct, it does not work.
Since it works in all other browsers, including FireFox on desktop, it seems to be a bug with FireFox for iOS.

We’ll do some further testing, but it seems FF for iOS does not allow writing content to a newly created window element.
In the mean time we’ll mark this issue as resolved and push the RC to GitHub.

Update: FireFox for iOS will not even run the W3 standard example:
