  • Hi, yes the priority value in sitemaps means higher is more important in the eyes of the site owner. These values should be seen as a recommendation. Of course, search engines are free to completely ignore these recommendations.

    Not sure why but it seems my sitemap is being indexed yet the content does not seem to appear in the results. I post jobs to Google jobs and I can see it has been indexed but the numbers do not correlate with the Google search console.

    It shows that it indexed 540 job posts in the sitemap but on the search console it barely has 300?

    Maybe the posts are not properly identified as jobs? Sometimes it helps removing the sitemap from Search Console and resubmitting it, but often is just takes a while for Search Console to properly reflect the current situation.
