• I do not believe there should be a check a box requiring an action to anonymously deactivate this plugin, with the default being the deactivation is reported. The plugin handbook reads: Plugins may not track users without their consent… Automated collection of user data without explicit confirmation from the user.

“Explicit confirmation”: Essentially, the anonymous check box should default to checked and require an explicit action to UNcheck it. Users should not have to check this box every time the plugin is deactivated to remain anonymous.

  • Hi @rermis, this is Vova from Freemius, the SDK that is responsible for adding the deactivation feedback form for Premmerce SEO for WooCommerce. If you check the dialog box, you’ll notice that it has 2 buttons, one of them is “skip” and will just deactivate the plugin without sending nor submitting anything.

    Hope it helps.

Hello Vova, thanks for your response. Yes, I fully understand how the process works. The problem is that the feedback should always default to anonymous. It’s deceiving to the user when an additional action requires them to be anonymous.
