    Hi Chase,

I have a privacy-related question about the way the plugin deals with the birthdate information the user enters on the verification screen.

Does the plugin store the actual date the user enters either in the database or in some form in the validation cookie? Looking at the plugin code, it doesn’t look like it — it appears that the birthdate is used for a yes/no test, which then sets a cookie (validate/non-validate) or refuses access — but I’m not a programmer.

Could you comment on this? I want to make sure that I’m correctly reflecting any potential personal information implications in the site’s privacy policy.

    Thanks!

Great question, and you are correct.

The plugin does not store any age data. It simply checks the user’s input to see if it meets the age requirement, then sets a cookie if so. The cookie does not contain any information other than “yes,” meaning the user was verified.
