Privacy issue when caching

  • Hi Eyal,

    We noticed a concerning behaviour which may or may not be directly caused by Geo My WP.

    When you browse the website in incognito mode and refuse to ‘share your position’, the location field (including the geo tag position on map) is automatically filled with the last user’s address/location.

    We tried to clean up Geo My WP cache and did not work.
    We then clean the cache of W3 Total cache and it cleaned up previously stored navigation data.

    I would like to know where Geo My Wp stores (DB/temp file?) these data in order to create an exception within W3 Total Cache when it creates cacheable data.

    Hello @wlsfh,

    The current location of the uses is saved in cookies only. It is not being saved anywhere in the DB.

    Below are the cookies you should be looking for:

    gmw_ul_street
    gmw_ul_city
    gmw_ul_region_name
    gmw_ul_region_code
    gmw_ul_postcode
    gmw_ul_country_name
    gmw_ul_country_code
    gmw_ul_address
    gmw_ul_formatted_address
