    You can only password protect the original ( source ) photo files – if you saved them, see Table IX-H – with a .passwd file on the server.

    The thumbnails and photos at screen resolution will always be findable with a direct url, like https://www.<yoursite>/wp-content/uploads/wppa/<number>.jpg so it makes no sense to protect the albums.

    Note that albums are only folders for the source files.

    If this is for copyright purposes, add ( heavy ) watermarks to make them useless.
