Private Message and button doesn't always appear. empty

    This is really bizarre. As the title suggests, can anybody give an idea of why the buttons are only there about half of the time? They were just there for about page 5 refreshes, now theyre gone again! For no reason, nothing has changed.

    Take a look at any member profile from the user names on the right (recent topics) and keep refreshing the page or go to a different profile. Sometimes the buttons are there, sometimes they are not. Its very random

    This div is empty when theyre not there:

    And when they do load, these 2 divs are inside the previous one.

    Refreshing the page often displays the div / buttons, so it is nothing that can be recreated on purpose!

    I do not have the “add friend” button enabled by the way so that one isn’t missing.

    Oh, forgot to add, the buttons seem to appear consistently when using the Twenty Twelve theme.

    Hi there, is this a BuddyPress feature? I’m not seeing any buttons to send a private message, but could that be because I don’t have an account on your site and am not logged in?

    You may want to pursue this over in the BuddyPress forums, where the experts may have some ideas. If there’s something specific about the theme folks see that’s preventing it from working right with BuddyPress, feel free let me know after the BP folks have a look and I’ll see what I can do about getting it looked at on this end.

    Yes its a buddypress feature.

    The only reply I had on the buddypress forums though was to check the twenty twelve theme, and since it works consistently on that one, wouldnt it be more likely it is theme related?

    If you constantly refresh the page, the buttons will appear for a fair few times and then not appear for a similar amount of time before working again. Its quite strange.

    Thanks, I was able to log in and replicate the issue. Very strange indeed.

    I’ll report it to our developers and will keep you posted of any updates here. If you could keep the test user active that would be helpful.

    The theme’s fine — the problem is actually caused by a bug in our widgets (you’re using the Members list and the “Who’s online?) widgets.
