Private Pages/Posts Not Displaying

I’m trying to create a “Private” Page or Post that will display ONLY if you have the direct link. I’ve done it before, but for some reason it’s not working now when I click “Visibility Private”. I’ve tried it on both a Page and a Post. I sincerely appreciate any help!!
