“Private” Pods posts ignoring users set to “read private posts”
-
I’m using the built in WP “Private” post status in a few places of my site to make certain content visible only to a specific user role (I set this up using User Role Editor to “Read Private Posts”). This is working wonderfully. However, I have 2 Custom Post Types set up in Pods utilizing the “post” user capability. When I mark my pods posts as “private” they disappear completely despite the fact that I have a specific user role set to “Read Private Posts.” Do you know why they are listening to the “private” setting, but not corresponding to everything else set up in WP that is correctly working for Private Posts?
I have also tried setting up a custom capability and it is doing the same thing. No matter what user role I check to have access to my capability, if the post is set to private, it hides for all users and if it is just published, it is visible to all users regardless of my settings within User Role Editor.
