Hoping you can point me in the right direction as to how I can integrate this feature idea:

When a moderator replies to a comment – I want the ability to surface a checkbox to make the reply private such that only the original commenter / admin see the reply.

That way, it would still send an email to the person &/or they’d see the reply when they viewed their comment on the page.

But nobody else would see the comment.

    Use case:

Someone leaves a comment that isn’t up to our community standards.

The moderator edits that comment, posts a public reply.

Then posts a private reply to the comment letting the person know why their comment was edited and asks them to respect the community guidelines.

Sure, the admin could also just email that commentor… but we have several moderators who all have their own emails.

Also, we want all moderators to see that some other moderator had left the private reply.

This would assume that we’ve got the comment RSS turned off / blocked so all I’m really looking at is being able to surface a “mark as private” tick box, and then could even just use CSS to hide the comment if filtering the output of comments would be too resource intensive.

Any ideas/functions to look at appreciated!

    Jason

    Hi jasonkadlec,
I’m really sorry but this kind of feature is not exists and it’s very hard to develop on existing wpDiscuz core. We’re going to great such an add-on on beginning of November.

    Hi guys,

First of all, fantastic plugin! 5* worthy!

Any updates on the add-on for making private comments? I could really use with this one!

    Kind Regards,
    Rasmus
