I’m doing work on a client site, cloned the site onto my local dev environment. But EDD is locked out of updates due to the license-domain mismatch.

Many commercial plugins provide for a complimentary developer license along with the single site license, as it is very common for sites to be cloned to staging environments for testing, debugging, what-not.

Does EDD account for testing environments with their licenses?

    Hey @cyclissmo

We do account for that and some specific domain extensions like .test, localhost, .dev and others will automatically be allowed.

You can always just use the extensions without the need to activate them and they will still work.

Hope I’m not hijacking, but I have the same issue. I created a staging site ( https://staging.towerlakesflorida.com ), through my hosting service (Hostinger) and am receiving the same message:

License MismatchYour license key doesn’t match your current domain. This is most likely due to a change in the domain URL. Please deactivate the license and then reactivate it again.

    Could you please advise?

    Respectfully,

    Hey @jlewinski

That error message does not seem to look like one from EDD. I believe it might be from another plugin.

Oops! My bad! That’s what I get for being in a hurry. You’re right, it’s an error from “Elementor Pro”. My appologies.
