Pro version confusion / disappointment.

  • A really great plugin – so I purchased the Pro version, which upon purchase states: “One-time charge”, “Basic support and update for 1 year for 1 installation”

    Now I can understand the support and update being limited to 1 year. But after one year, I’m getting a message stating that I have to “Extend to maintain full functionality”

    So what happened to the “One-time charge”? Disappointing ??

    Hi @melvidge, sorry to disappoint you, but where exactly is the problem? Of course, to maintain full functionality, it must be updated as it maintains compatibility with WordPress updates. It is not technically possible to guarantee that the plugin will work even without updates. It might for a while, but I can’t predict how WordPress core will be updated and what features might be affected by non-backwards compatible updates, so I don’t understand your disappointment. It is clearly stated … one-time charge (we don’t have recurring payments yet) – 1 year of updates … after that the plugin is not limited in any way, but it will be outdated and may stop working properly after a while. Not by our intention, but because of update of WordPress … so I don’t see that status … “Extend to maintain full functionality” wrong.

    Please can you describe in more details, what exactly is a problem for you? Is your idea, that you buy 1-year license for WordPress plugin and it will work forever – without update?
