• OK, So I upgraded my single user site to a MU site, and after some headache with the URI I managed to get it fixed but I have a few questions if thats ok with you guys.

    1. my mu blogs work from a subdomain so blog1.mysite.com would be the first user blog, however when I type in a blog that does not exist I get a registration page up with a kinda broken theme

    A) is there a way to redirect blogs that dont exist to a specific page ?

    B) is there a way that users can register and request a blog where by an admin only needs to approve ?

I’m looking to let me my members just create their own blog with minimal imput from me. but it does not appear to be working the way I thought it would.

Which was visit a url that does not exist like newblog.mysite.com and then have a registration form that makes the new blog

    ideas?

Right now they get redirected to the signup page. You can turn that off so they go to the main site.

I don’t know of any other options, other than maybe rewrite rules. (that’s ipstenu’s territory. ?? )

than means you have to style the signup page so it matches your theme.

I’m confused at what else you;er getting, aside from a broken looking registration page, as that is what happens by default.

Hi Andrea_r I actually made a new post, in which I am a lot clearer on what I need due to more time spent on the issue.

Can you check that one please ?

    Hay all.

I had a single WP install, moved it to root and converted it to MU, I then ported over some blogs from other locations and all is going well, however I have now noticed that when some one goes to signup, they are only getting the user signup options.

The stuff for blog sign up as I understand it are missing, wp config has subdomains set to true and mu set to true.

I have as I said now 5 or so blogs so subdomains are working, just new users cant create their own blog cos the option on sign up is missing

Check your registration options under Network Admin -> Settings.

Looks like you have it set to “User accounts may be registered.”

Which means user accounts only, not blogs. So check “Logged in users may register new sites” instead.
