Sorry I don’t know if I am doing something wrong but how do you change the URL of the image manually? What I did was open the post, view as html and change the url, save, but it doesn’t work. Indeed when I go to media the picture still has the wrong URL. If this is the right procedure, how can I change the url of the images in feature slides?

Really thank you for al of your help!

I think I found something that can be the problem: I have a customize wp-content folder called wp-contenuti and during my cnfiguration there was the waring:
Create a blogs.dir directory at /home/imparoin/public_html/wp-contenuti/blogs.dir. This directory is used to store uploaded media for your additional sites and must be writeable by the web server. Warning: Networks may not be fully compatible with custom wp-content directories.

Do you think this can be the reason of all my probelm?

Well. That’s one problem, to be sure.

Then your images would be https://www.imparoinglese.com/wp-contenuti/blogs.dir/2/files/et_temp/londra-53998_74x74.jpg

    Except they are not.

    Where ARE your images?

Basically ages ago i create a customize wp-content folder, called wp-contenuti, so my images are in there. Checking my wp-conf i have this

    define('WP_CONTENT_DIR', '/home/imparoin/public_html/wp-contenuti');
    define('WP_CONTENT_URL', 'https://www.imparoinglese.com/wp-contenuti');

I am trying to seach on line a solution but can not find any help. Do you think it’s possible to pass all the images on wp-content so I might be able to sort out the problem with wpmu?

    Thank you!:))

That’s only for your main site.

    Subsites are in https://www.imparoinglese.com/wp-contenuti/blogs.dir/NUMBER/files/

    So yes.

    1) Create the blogs.dir – You were prompted to do this when you activated a network, by the way.

    2) Since you don’t have this, we need to find out where this image really lives: wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files/et_temp/londra-53998_74x74.jpg

See, I don’t know. It SHOULD be in wp-content (or wp-contenuti) but it’s clearly not. So where did you put those images?

    Hi,
I delate the multiste network. I am back to one site. I analyze it I this is waht I have:

On setting->media says that uploadin flies are stored in wp-content/uploads
But on my cpanel, inside wp-content I have the following folders:flagallery, languages, theme, upgrade.
Inside wp-contenuti I have: gallery, languages, plugin, theme, upgrade, uploads (where there are the images).

If i try to move the folder uploads back to wp-content, the images on my website don’t show.
Now, what I think is: if I can find the way to move back the upload path to wp-content, I will not have problem with images if I want to reinstall the multiste network, am I worng?
I hope you have a webiste where I can do some donation for your help!
I think I am going crazy with wp!
    Thank you

That shouldn’t have happened. Changing the folder as you did in wp-config.php is supposed to move it all.

    I would… Hmm.

    Okay.

    1) Install a new, single, instance in a subfolder – domain.com/wptemp/

    2) Export from your main site and import into the new instance.

    3) Get everything looking right. Theme settings, etc. Don’t move wp-content or anything, just leave it alone. No one will see that anyway if you do this right.

    4) Remove the original site, and move the /wptemp/ in it’s place (i.e. back into the root of your /home/imparoin/public_html/ location).

    5) Make sure everything works, the URLs are okay, etc.

    6) Now activate Multisite.

(BTW, I wrote an ebook about Multisite that may help you out – https://halfelf.org/ebooks/wordpress-multisite-101/ – Disclosure: It’s pay what you want, so feel free to download for free and see if it’s useful ?? )

    (@martinae)

    Hi,

I am a little stuck:( I create the new folder wptemp, but when you said to export evrything from my webiste, do you mean eveything is under public_html?

    Thank you!!!!!

No, I mean use the built in export tool: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Tools_Export_Screen

    Thread Starter martinae

    (@martinae)

I use the export tool and download the file to my computer, it’s a xml file and now I upload this file to wptemp. But it’s just one file. Is this ok?
    Thank you

    Thread Starter martinae

    (@martinae)

Also when you said to remove the original site, what did you mean exactely? Sorry, all of this is very new to me:(

    Moderator Ipstenu (Mika Epstein)

    Original site: https://www.imparoinglese.com/

    Temporary site: https://www.imparoinglese.com/wptemp/

    Please read https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Tools_Export_Screen

It actually tells you that it exports ONE file. Then it says to use the import tool: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Tools_Import_Screen

Just take a deep breath and read fully before going on to the next step ?? You can do this.

    Thread Starter martinae

    (@martinae)

Sorry but I am really lost, I might be your nightmare:)
I thought I have to upload the file xml exported through cpanel and put it on wptemp.

But what I have to do is importing that file through Tools Import, so through a plugin?

    I am a little confused…

    Thank you
