’nuff said. i have a fresh install on godaddy’s servers with NO plugins, NO customization, and it’s SO SLOW. I’ve noticed this before in other installs, but just can’t imagine that WP would have this problem…

    anybody…?

Slowness is relative to your server. If there’s not a lot of traffic on your shared server, it’s fast.

yeah, that’s what i thought. seems godaddy’s gotten too big for his own britches…?

although my other raw code sites run ok on godaddy… hmmm…

Is your other raw code site use PHP and/or MySQL (or other Db) or is is xhtml, javascript, and css only?

If it doesn’t use a Db then the load on your Db at godaddy could be significant but you won’t experience it with your raw site but defintely will with your WP site.

If you know how to write a little SQL, script up a timing script for a full table scan, transactions and indexed columns and you will see/tell that this either is or isn’t your bottleneck.

aha. exactly. no, lots of css and js, etc. but no database – that’s my bottleneck, their mysql server.

they really are good with support, i’m gonna call and cuss some.

    thanks
