    Dear All,

I am using wordpress 2.7.1 and was under the impression that I can have atleast 9 text widgets in my sidebar. However, the ‘current widgets’ sidebar tool ONLY allows me to display 4 widgets.

When I try to add a fifth, it does not save it. The screen displays only 4 widgets present (despite the sidebar subtitle stating that “You are using 5 widgets in the Sidebar”.)

Do I have to edit the theme code (functions.php) in order to add more widgets? or is it because I use IE? or am I only allowed 4?

    The blog/website is: https://www.northoltrfc.co.uk/

Your help would be most kindly appreciated.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Is there a reason why you’re running WordPress 2.7.1? It’s generally a good idea to keep your WordPress installation up to date. Security is typically always improved in newer versions, and you may find yourself having trouble with plugins when you run an outdated version of WordPress.

    Thank you Esmi,

It was the Widget Logic plug-in that I uploaded to alter the widgets that I have on each page. What a relief!

    Will also update to 2.9.2.

    Thanks all!
