    Hello,
    I’m almost desperate:

After updating to elementor 2.6 (and switching to font awesome 5), there are no more icons displayed in Elementor. Also the icon library is empty. Even a new installation of elementor was unsuccessful.

    PHP version 7.0
    MySQL version 5.7.27-0ubuntu0.16.04.1
    using SSL
WordPress themes are up to date
WordPress plugins are up to date

Can someone perhaps show me a possible solution to this problem from their own experience?

  • There have been several updates in the last few days, so make sure you really do have the latest, which is currently 2.6.6. If you don’t have that version, and don’t see an update for it, go to Dashboard > Updates and click the Check Again button.

If you are up to date, have you gone through the font awesome migration process yet? https://docs.elementor.com/article/584-migration-to-font-awesome-5

If you haven’t migrated yet, go to any widget that you have used that uses icons, edit an icon, and it will prompt you to migrate.

Finally, check Elementor > Settings > Advanced and make sure Load Font Awesome 4 Support is set to Yes.

    Thanks cavalierlife,
I made sure, that I have the latest update 2.6.6
I have gone through the migration process (but, as an additional information: The “fontawesome…” tab is not displayed in the tool.)
And I checked “Load Font Awesome 4 Support” is set to Yes.

I had considered all this before, but unfortunately there was no change in the problem at the moment. The icon library remains empty ??

From your WP Dashboard go to -Elementor – Custom Icons. Open the trash folder and if there are any icons there, select and permanently delete them all. Refresh the page that had that problem and try again.
    You’re welcome!)

    Thanks for your post.
I am so sorry. After going to -Elementor – Custom Icons…there is no “trash folder“.

    ??

Make sure you’re using the fontawesome 5.
If it’s all set and updated, you may try this weird thing – Drag and drop an Icon widget to somewhere on any page, click add custom svg, add something there, update the page. Come back here to Custom Icons, there you’ll have your custom icon, delete it then go to trash and delete it permanently. It may do the trick.
If not, I guess the last option is to contact elementor admins directly and give them your User/Password of WP, so they can fix it.

Thanks @pacotole …but if I open ELEMENTOR – CUSTOM ICONS … there is no trash folder…
    Only:

    1. Create a new Icon Font
Visit Fontello and select the icons you would like to use. You can even upload custom SVG icons of your own on Fontello, whether they be custom made or from a source like Flaticon!
    2. Upload your ZIP file here
After selecting your icons on Fontello, give your font a unique name and hit download. Then, upload the Fontello ZIP file here.
    3. Use Your Icons…
and “Upload Fontello Zip” … that`s all. ??

The best solution I’ve seen is to upload a custom icon, then delete it. Seems to work for most people.
