I updated to WP 4.2.2, and now there is some weirdness going on with the vertical spacing. The preview looks fine, but, on the site, an additional 20 pixels is being added at the top of each row, causing a big gap between rows. I took a look at the code on the page, and I can see what’s happening, but I don’t know why. Below is a link to a screen capture showing the problematic code and what’s happening to the accordion. I’ve highlighted the issues.

What has me puzzled is where that max-width and max-height are coming from. It’s not from this plugin, and a complete search of all the WP files and my theme’s files failed to find it. It’s also not coming from my media settings. I suppose it might be coming from one of my other plugins, but I wasn’t having this problem before I updated.

Of lesser concern is the fact that it appears as if a few pixels are being shaved off the bottom of the images in the first two of the three rows. It might have been doing that before, but I didn’t notice.

Thanks, by the way, for answering my other question. I thought I was all set, and then this happened.

Guess what? It isn’t an issue with 4.2.2 after all. It’s the links! Adding links to the images causes that extra 20 pixels to be added. I updated to 4.2.2 right before adding the links, and it didn’t occur to me that that might be the problem instead. Can this be fixed? I want the links, but I hate that big gap between rows.

    I can see some
tags before and after the img elements. Those could be caused by some code from the theme. Please try to temporarily activate one of the default themes and see if the problem persists.

I found out what was causing the problem. It was another plugin: WEN Responsive Columns. I don’t know why, especially why it only caused that weird spacing issue when there were links added to the images, but disabling that plugin fixed the problem. Fortunately, it’s a plugin I don’t need.

Thanks for all your time and help. I wish that all plugin authors took the time to respond to posts.
