Thanks for this beautiful WordPress plugin
There is a problem with displaying the category in the Arabic translation. When I select the categories for the Arabic translation from the settings, they disappear from the English translation and vice versa.
When I choose the English categories in the settings, the categories disappear in the Arabic translation
Use the Polylang plugin for translation
    What is the solution
    Thanks

    Glad to help.

    This sounds like a bug.

Can you let me know the basic steps to repeat this issue on default WordPress install.

That way I can investigate and try to resolve any issue, thank you.

    Welcome
I switched to default WordPress install
Select categories from Settings > Categories and Tag for the Arabic version
    As usual, same problem
The categories have disappeared from the English version
    And vice versa
When I select categories from the English version, they disappear from the Arabic version
The phrase Please select a category appears without categories

    Thanks, not quite following though..

Where/how does this come into play:

“Categories and Tag for the Arabic version”

Is there a plugin you are using, or just switching in the WP Admin Area under General settings.. Where/how are you getting to the Arabic settings?

Ideally you can let me know the steps, beginning from default WordPress. So for example the steps might look something like this:

    1. Install WP
    2. Enable Arabic language
    3. Visit plugin settings
    4. Perform some action, etc.
    5. Until the issue appears

Just trying to understand so I can follow along.

    ok

    I use Polylang plugin

    to choose language

    steps

    1. Install WP
    2. Enable Arabic language
    3. Visit plugin settings
    4. I choose the Arabic categories to appear in the Arabic form
    5. The categories already appear in Arabic
    6. But the English categories disappear from the English version
    7. And vice versa
    8. The English and Arabic categories do not appear in both versions at the same time

Okay that makes sense, I understand thru step 4. But then this is where I get confused:

“The categories already appear in Arabic”

What does that mean? And then this:

“But the English categories disappear from the English version”

What English version? The free version of this plugin provides only one form. Not possible to have an “Arabic” version AND an “English” version. It’s one or the other.

    Also this:

“The English and Arabic categories do not appear in both versions at the same time”

    Both versions of what exactly?

Thanks for your patience as I try to understand what is happening here.

Sir, when you use a translator plugin
You will have two versions of the site, one in English and one in Arabic
    https://t10ttv.com/add-video/
    https://t10ttv.com/ar/%d8%a7%d8%b6%d9%81-%d9%81%d9%8a%d8%af%d9%8a%d9%88/
    \en and \ar
The content is different in the Arabic version than the English version
Also, the categories are different in each version
When you upload a post in Arabic, it goes to the Arabic version
When you upload a post in English, it goes to the English version
Yes, use two pages to upload the post, one in Arabic and the other in English
I use the Polylang plugin, which converts the site to a version in each language

Yes that’s because the plugin only supports one form. The form can be displayed on different pages, but always will be the same form.

Further, the plugin uses one set of options in the database. The one set of options includes one option for the category field, which determines which categories to display. So in the plugin Category setting, where you select your categories, those categories are what will be stored in the WP database. Those are the categories that are used when the form is displayed on the front end. One set of categories only.

There is no support or functionality or database option anywhere in the plugin that supports more than one set of category (or any other) plugin setting. The free version supports one form that can be displayed on any page(s), but the form content always will be the same.

Is there a solution to this problem in the paid version of the plugin?
Even when I’m ready I buy it

No sorry, neither version is compatible with Polylang, in the way that is described in this thread, with different settings for different forms. However when just displaying one form (the same form), Polylang works normally with User Submitted Posts.

Thanks for your patience, @moka74. Let me know if I can provide any further information.

Thank you, but please notify me when there is an update to the plugin and its compatibility with different languages
