    Theme is “myth”

I’m having some trouble embedding a map, it shoes up as just a grey rectangle. I can add markers, move around and zoom but it’s like the actual map details are invisible. On Mapbox it works fine so I’m at a bit of a loss (and about to resort to screenshoting the map and embedding a picture of it instead)

Any idea what could be causing it?

The site isn’t live yet as I’m trying to get some posts up first (it’s a travel blog) but if I need to I can make it view able.

    Hi @ lucyspotting,

It sounds like perhaps the Mapbox ID is either wonky or hasn’t been entered. Did you enter the correct Mapbox ID in the Customizer settings as we show here? https://aesopstoryengine.com/help/map-component

Let me know if that helps.

Same problem here. It worked once. Then I made a Mapbox account and pasted the ID, and after this, nothing works. Only grey boxes in backend and frontend.

Even after deleting the ID I cound not get the maps back to work.

    Hey Jockel666,

What version of Aesop are you using?

    Aesop 1.6.3

Theme Myth (child), but I tried also the Myth main and Literatum: Same problem.

I tried to create a second map and paste it’s ID, like said in some thread here. But that did not help.

When it worked (before using my own ID), I had another problem which I read of also: The search field did not work. Maybe same reason?

BTTW: Is there a way to edit the marker, especially the order?

    Thanx, Joerg

    Hey Jockel666,

We updated Mapbox IDs several versions ago, and so I am wondering if you had a Map created in an earlier version, or if you have an old Mapbox ID and you never updated your maps.

Can you use this Mapbox ID to trigger the update and then connect your Mapbox ID after the update? aesopinteractive.hkoag9o3

    Hi Michael,

thanx, that works!! Strange, because my Map and my aesop installation was only 1-2 weeks old, and I never have used any of these services before.

Maybe Mapbox creates old IDs under certain circumstances?

What not works is the search function. Whatever I put in the search field, when I press return, nothing happens. There is a dropbox with the (german) google hints popping up, but wheter I type by myself or use the google hits, the map does not change.

But the more important thing is that the ID is working now, thanx for this interesting solution!

    Greetings, Joerg
