Just got an ‘problem Found’ email alert from Wordfence… and the Warnings are almost ALL to do with Wordfence plugin files being modified.

now I am aware that sometimes this might happen if teh plugin autoupdates and doesnt recognise its own changes. But its only happeend on one of the many sites I manage.

How worried do I need to be, and what can I check to make sure everything is as it should be?

  • Hi @gomisan,

It could indeed be related to a delay after the newest update was released.

Have you tried to run another scan since the last one which reported these modifications?

    Hi @gomisan!
It sounds like most likely it just so happened that a scan was running on your site at the exact same time as when the plugin was automatically updated.

Presuming this did not happen when you ran a new scan? Resolving this for now but if you have any persistent problems with this, please do get back to us.

    Thanks!
