I am trying to import my Blogger blog into my WordPress blog. I followed the instructions for importing with some success. The trouble is that it only pulled posts up through last October. For some reason every post I may from November 2009 to current ( I post once a week) was not imported.

Anyone know what may have happened? More importantly, should I just try to import again, and if I do that, will it mean that I have two versions of the import? Thoughts? Suggestions?

    Thank you!

Have you looked to see if there is anything unusual about the first post in November – where the import stopped?

If you run another import, I’m pretty sure that you’ll end up with 2 versions.

I would recommend creating a free account at WordPress.com and importing your Blogger blog with your free account there. The powerful servers at WordPress.com will do the job though you might have to run it more than once. Export XML from your WordPress.com and import that XML in your self-hosted WP install.

mercime, would exporting the blog I just imported remove it from my site? Could I try that and then just re-import?

Exporting a site doesn’t remove it from the server or empty the database tables. It just exports the site into an xml or similar file. I’m not saying what mercime suggests won’t work for you but it did not work for me.

My problem is similar to yours but not exactly the same. I get all posts imported (339) going back to 2007. My problem is I only get 755 of over 1500 comments attached to those posts so I only have comments going back to around November of 2009.

What I posted above worked for many and using the power of WordPress.com server is a plus. In addition, you might want to try out another method which has helped me in the past to migrate blogger posts to WPMU a few years back – save HTML custom template if you have one first before trying it out – https://mu.www.ads-software.com/forums/topic/4941?replies=7
