Problem importing Blogger to WP

  • I’m getting this error:

    Could not connect to

    There was a problem opening a connection to Blogger. This is what went wrong:

    php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: No address associated with hostname (0)

    when I try to import from Blogger.com to a self-hosted (on my domain) site.

    I first tried importing from the FTP version of the site, then I tried importing from the domain.blogspot.com version, but nothing happened. In fact, I have several blogger blogs and all of them showed up as 0/0 in the “posts” column. The posts ARE on blogger, but it’s not transferring over, even though it recognizes the names of the blogs.

    So, then I tried exporting the blogger blog, saving the RSS to my computer and importing it to WP from that. That didn’t work either.

    I need help!!! Someone, please, take pity on me…it’s been driving me crazy all day!

  • One possibility it to get a wordpress.COM blog, import Blogger there, then do the Export WordPress thing then import that into your hosted blog.

    MichaelH–I forgot to mention this…I tried it earlier, after reading this suggestion in the forums. Didn’t work. The .com blog wouldn’t let me import it, either.

    Do you think it’s a problem with the most recent upgrade? I’m at a loss as to what to do.
