Problem in changing my site to new server

  • Hi,
    I changed my server.So, I manually downloaded the contents of old server to my new one and I imported the database of old to new server. When I load my site, it loads homepage well but no other pages are getting loaded. It shows as below. Please tell me how to do it properly.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    btw this looks like a permalink error, u can try re-saving ur permalink configs in admin panel

    just suffered with the above problem, and then I realized what I happened.

    Got the same:
    Apache/2.2.22 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.22 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/

    and I couldn’t figure out what caused it, so I re-installed wordpress and went through all the steps again before realizing this happened right after I switched from the default post name to Post name

    it then said that it didn’t have access to .htaccess file…and then I realized I didn’t have one…so just make sure that there is one there and that wordpress can write to it.

    That’s what fixed it for me, hope it helps someone out there =)
