    Dear Team,

I switched off the multi-stage checkout in my shop today and wanted to complete the checkout as normal in the one-pager (unfortunately I had to switch back directly)

The problem is that I get the error message ”
MISSING_SHIPPING_ADDRESS The shipping address is required when shipping_preference=SET_PROVIDED_ADDRESS
as soon as I want to select a payment method, so only one of your plugin of course.

The funny thing is that if I check the “Send to a different address” option and then uncheck it, it suddenly works.

How can I solve the error and why does it appear at all?

I don’t have the error with the 3-step checkout. Somehow the plugin doesn’t seem to be able to process the entered address correctly. We also only sell normal products, where a delivery address is required everywhere.

    Best Regards
    Chris

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.
We have seen this issue before, and this can have some different causes.
The most common cause is when a theme or page builder is using a checkout Module that use the short code “woocommerce_checkout” instead of how the standard WC module works. I would expect that you are encountering a similar situation. Our plugin uses the default WooCommerce short codes, and we cannot adjust this for plugins that don’t use the default. This would be my first advice to look into.

Another cause can be the WooCommerce general setting for “default customer location”, but this is most likely not the cause, but worth a shot if the first option does not show any results.

Let me know if this helps you resolve the issue or if you need additional support.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi Joost,
    many thanks for your response.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how or where I can look / check the toilet modules?

The default customer location is set to ” Store Country/Region” Is that correct?

Otherwise, I would like to point out once again that all payment methods work with the current 3-stage checkout. It just doesn’t work when I switch to the one-pager!!

It’s also very strange that it also works if I just check the box “Send delivery to a different address” and then uncheck it again. Then the PayPal window opens without any problems. What could that be?

    Best regards
    Christian

    Hello @christian-abu

Thank you for these details, I have opened a bug and will check with the developer on options for causing this. With what plugin is this one-page-checkout created?
If you have a staging site available, we would not mind taking a look at this.

If you don’t feel comfortable sharing those details on a public forum, please open a ticket with our service desk. You can find the instruction for this here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
(please add the URL of this thread in the ticket as well)

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi Joost,

    Thank you very much.

I use the Enfold Theme and the Germanized plugin on my site. This is a current theme and plugin, where Paypal Payments otherwise runs without any problems.

Luckily there is a staging site, you’re welcome to take a look and test it there. I then set the option there as it should be on the live page.

I will be happy to send you the login data via a ticket.

When do you think you can watch it?

    Many Thanks.

    Best regards
    Christian

    Hello @christian-abu

We provide support mostly during EU office hours, so during those hours we can make time for it. Whenever you send us details (again, I would advise you to do that via our service desk) and not on a public forum), we can take a look at it.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Joost,

    please excuse the delayed reply.

I found some time to test something.

I found out that there are problems with the “Germanized for Woocommerce” plugin. If I deactivate the plugin, the error message no longer appears.

The plugin Germanized for Woocommerce ( https://vendidero.de/woocommerce-germanized ) is actually a current plugin, which only makes our shop legally secure and optimizes it. The plugin is used on many websites and there are always updates.

Unfortunately, I can’t explain what exactly happens that the error occurs.

As already explained before, the error is gone again if, for example, I switch the payment methods back and forth in the checkout. That’s very funny. Do you know the plugin Germanized for Woocommerce?

Everything works if I have activated the 3-step checkout. The error only occurs with the one-page checkout. I’m really at a loss.

    Best Regards
    Christian

    Hello @christian-abu

Yes, that does make some sense, and it seems something is going wrong that we have not identified yet. I was discussing this with my colleague, and we found out you already have a support ticket open for this situation, so let’s see if we can find the cause via that engagement and update here when we find the exact cause/fix for this.

    Kind regards,

    Hello,

it seems this problem might have been caused by other 3rd party plugins. To get to the bottom of this, you may want to perform a full conflict test to rule out eventual issues with the theme or a different plugin.
Please create a backup of the site first before proceeding.

We recommend temporarily activating the?default theme Storefront?and disabling all other plugins except for?WooCommerce and?PayPal Payments to see if the behavior persists.
For more detailed instructions, check out?How to test for plugin and theme conflicts.

Conflict testing should always be done on a staging site if possible.?If your host doesn’t provide a staging site, we can recommend the plugin?WP STAGING?to create a staging site with a few clicks.
Please remember first creating a new backup and checking available disk space before making any changes to your live site like creating a staging clone.

Alternatively, you can also?install the plugin?Check Conflicts?–?https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/check-conflicts/?– This allows you to change theme and plugin activations?only for your IP address, so the changes are not visible to other visitors of your site.
Here is the brief instruction on how to do conflict testing with the said plugin:

    Prerequisites:
    – Install?Check Conflicts?plugin
    – Install?Storefront?theme

    Conflict Testing:
    1. Navigate to Check Conflicts on the side navigation bar. Choose?Storefront?theme. Then click “Save”
    2. Try to reproduce the problem: Check Credit Card fields on Checkout page. If the problem is resolved, it’s a theme conflict. If not, continue to the next steps.
    3. Navigate back to Check Conflict. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and?PayPal Payments.
    4. Try to reproduce the issue again. If the problem is resolved, it’s a plugin conflict. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, continue to the next step.
    5. Navigate back to Check Conflict. Select one plugin at a time and click “Save” (To multi-select, you need to hold on the “Crtl” key on PC or “Cmd” key on Mac)

When you are using the Check Conflicts plugin, you can click on “Cancel” to immediately stop the conflict testing mode.
Here is a quick instructional video on how to use the plugin:?https://cln.sh/rjELyp

Please let us know how this works for you. If this does not help, please open a private engagement to use via these instructions. We will mark this thread as resolved.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
