    Hello
    I don’t understand something.
I create a modele for my newsletter with 5 last articles.
I send my first newsletter : ok it’s my 5 last articles.
I create a new newsletter : ok it’ my 5 last articles but if I consult the previous newsletter I see the same articles like in my new newsletter !
So I can’t see newsletters in accordance with what was sent at the moment X ?
    Thanks

    Hello @houba_houbi ,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

After you’ve created a Post Notification and the first email has been sent, only newly published posts from that point onwards will be sent. When you go to edit the Post Notification after the first time sending the posts that appear in the newsletter designer is just for illustrative purposes.

Let us know if this is the case,

    Cheers!

    Hello Ojoma a11n,

It is not about the automatic sending of a newsletter as soon as an article is published.
I created a modele of newsletter which have the widget “last articles” and with my whishes configuration.
So my first newsletter was sent with my last articles, last week => OK
But when I consult later this sended newsletter, I must see the articles sended at this time. But I see my new articles ! So not the real sending !
    Thanks

    Hi @houba_houbi,

But when I consult later this sended newsletter, I must see the articles sended at this time. But I see my new articles !

When editing the newsletter, the content displayed for the widget may be different as it’s just for illustrative purposes, as my colleague mentioned previously. It’s dynamically updated in the editor, but it should not change the content of the already sent emails.

    I hope that’s clearer!

    Hello Bruna,

You said : It’s dynamically updated in the editor, but it should not change the content of the already sent emails.

As I see my content is changed on all my newsletters !! I created an article on 31/08/2022 so it can’t be in my newsletter sended on the 11/08/2022. On the next newsletter sended on the 02/09/2022, it should be here.

But if I edit or overview these 2 newsletters I see all the same content ! It’s very disturbing… I don’t understand how mailpoet works.
How can I be sure of the contents sended? If I don’t remember if I sended the article X, I can’t go on the history of my newsletters to check if it was already sent or need to be sent ?`
    Thanks

    Hi @houba_houbi,

As this is just for illustrative purposes and the content displayed there is dynamic, this is expected.

If you preview the sent newsletters though, you should see the right content.
Can you please confirm these are correct in the previews?

I confirm that it is not correct when open and when preview. I see emails modified.

I tested again with a new article. I think I found the problem : open a previous newsletter and close it without saving… => content that are dynamics are saved with the new contents ! It’s not normal, just open an email without saving any change should not saving anything.

If you open the email (and get to the newsletter editor), it’s expected that you’ll see the Automatic Latest Content block updated. And then as we have an auto-save feature, even if you close it without saving the newsletters, changes will be applied.

So if you want to check a past newsletter, it’s safer to preview it instead of editing it. You should use the “Preview” link from the MailPoet > Emails page for that. Screenshot for reference.

    Hi Bruna
An auto save feature is not a good idea for a lot a reasons. An alert message to ask for save or not is a better way.
The proof with my case, I think most people will open the newsletter by clicking on the link rather than clicking on the “preview” button thinking it’s the same.
So I think I will change for another plugin than mailpoet.

    Hi @houba_houbi,

You’re welcome to add any suggestions for improvement at?https://feedback.mailpoet.com

Please note that you can also set up a Post Notification email to send the latest published posts to your subscribers automatically, and it will select the posts according to the settings taking into account the ones that were already sent. So you don’t need to worry about duplicates, for example.

    I hope it helps!

Yes but I think I will have the same problem in the history of the emails with automatic posts because it’s dynamic content too?

No, this behavior won’t be the same in the Post Notification emails because the posts ID will be associated with each sent newsletter, so the posts displayed by the Automatic Latest Content won’t be updated even if you decide to edit the parent Post Notification email.

Ok thanks for explanations. I open a feedback for the autosave problem.

For the post notification emails, if we publish 2 posts on a day and select publish once a day at x. Mailpoet will send 2 mails (one mail by post) or it can send 1 email with 2 posts ?

    Hi there @houba_houbi,

If you select to send a Post Notification once a day, an email will be sent only once.

However, if you choose to include at least 2 posts to your email, it will include both posts that you published after the previous Post Notification was sent.

    Hope it helps!

    Hello
I am sorry but I actually didn’t understand all of your answer ;(
Also I did some tests with the article notification mail, set to 1 pm. daily. I changed the date of 3 of my articles in order to have “new articles”, so never send. In my post notification email template the latest posts widget was set to 5 posts. No email received. As I only had 3 articles I said to myself that the system was perhaps waiting to have 5 articles to send?
I changed my template and set the widget to 1 post. I received only one email for 1 article and nothing for the others and from several days…
I really don’t understand how to do it.

MailPoet knows that a notification for these posts were already sent, if they are existing posts. They will not trigger a new post notification email.
