• I had no trouble inserting a link into my bloh posts – but today the link insert button doessn’t work. I’ve tried running in FireFox and IE and 2 different computers (I thought it might be an IE setting blocking the link) – but still no go.

Does anyone have any suggestons or ideas for troubleshooting this issue?

  • What happens when you try to insert a link?

You could insert the link manually <a href="https://yourlink.com">Link Text</a>

I’s rather use the insert link button because I wanted to give it a “pretty” name for the blog post. The insert link window opens and I paste in the link and give it a name – but then it never gets uploaded to the blog post.

Do you think it might be my IE and Firefox security settings – maybe that’s blocking the upload?

It’s just about as quick doing it manually, and you can still give it a “Pretty” name, as you can see in the code example I showed you above.

Just put the “Pretty” name where it says “Link Text”.

I don’t know why your button isn’t working, and it looks as if no one else does either.

Honestly, I wouldn’t shut down production of my blog for the sake of using a button when I can do it manually and achieve the same effect.

Thanks for the tip! Now I can go ahead and post.

I don’t mind at all doing it manually as long as I can still give it a reader friendly name.

When I put the link in manually including the link name like this:

On the blog page it still shows up with all the html characters along with the Name – what am I doing wrong?

Actually this is the way it looks on the blog post preview

A recent article in the New York Times gives some practical solutions and tips on how we can prepare our food more safely without spending an arm and a leg for it. You can read the full article here in the New York Times online at

If you’re seeing HTML characters on the website then you need to switch to HTML view when insterting the link code, then switch back to Visual mode when you have finished.
