• Hi all,
I found problem in the new Editor of the 2.0 version.

Here is what I wanted to do: In order to provide the readers of my blog with some XML examples (I’m working in IT), I created some pages with XML samples in WordPress 1.5
Everything was ok but when I migrated to 2.0, a problem appeared with the new Editor.

In the version 1.5 when I wanted to add XML tags so that people could see them, I used the ASCII code ‘<’ and ‘>’.

Now it does not work anymore. The first update is ok but when I want to mofidy a page all the ‘visible’ XML tags are losts.
My other problem is that if I create my page in another editor to copy and paste it in the WordPress editor (The only solution I found in order to avoid retyping all the XML all over again), all the links are ‘messed up’ for instance, a ‘a href’ will be turned to ‘a xhref’ …

I have noticed other strange behaviors when you wish to write a page with both links and XML tags that you want to make readable.

All this was ok in the 1.5, maybe there is another encoding I should choose to display my xml tags in 2.0?
    Anyone has an idea ?
    Thanks !

    Pierre

  • Did you ever solve this problem? It just started happening for me, too, that wordpress puts in xhref where I had typed href. I can even edit the post, click on the “HTML” button to edit the html, and when I look at the HTML it shows what I typed (“href”). When I save and view the source of my blog, however, it again shows “xhref” and the links aren’t clickable. What’s the problem?

I’m having the same problem with 2.0 insering an X in my links. Any solution been discovered yet?

I’m having the same problem with 2.0.1 where “xhref” is used where “href” should be.

It only happens in posts, though.

Okay, I turned off the visually rich editor, and that fixed my problem.

Since nobody ever follows through on these craptacular WordPress boards, I figured I might as well weigh in and tell people how to actually go about disabling the rich editor.

Go to the Users tab, and then scroll all the way to the bottom. The option is there.

For what it’s worth, that’s a stupid place for it, and pretty hard to find.

I tried turning it off but it didn’t work for me. ??

It worked for me. Thanks so much for this advice!
