• Hi,

I have a brand new 2.8.2 blog and I’m trying to upload a plugin I have saved on my computer in .zip — after I browse and select it and click submit, the only thing that happens is it says

“Unpacking the package” and then it stops. It never installs but it says “done” down at the bottom of the browser, though obviously it’s not done.

I’ve tried it in IE8 and the newest Firefox as well so it’s not a server problem, and I’ve installed this plugin fine on a different blog in 2.7 — Please help me!

  • The plugin you have saved maybe not be compatible with WP2.8.2, try getting a fresh copy and upload that. Check with the plugin homepage or in WP repository to see if it is compatible or not.

Is it just that particular plugin you are having issues with or is it the entire process of auto-upload and extract that is the problem?

it seems to just be certainly plugins, not all of them…?

If using Vista try using 7-zip to do extraction.
