• Hello there-

I have a wordpress site that has been functional for several months. All of a sudden, the admin area is no longer accessible. The website is working fine, it’s just the admin. I checked the FTP server and it does not appear as if any of the files have been modified within the admin section. Link:

    https://www.4dcollege.com/wp-admin/

    I’ve posted the error below:

Warning: Missing argument 2 for add_action(), called in /hermes/bosweb/web227/b2270/ipw.lamplight/public_html/wp-content/themes/4DCollege/functions.php on line 71 and defined in /hermes/bosweb/web227/b2270/ipw.lamplight/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 324

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /hermes/bosweb/web227/b2270/ipw.lamplight/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php:324) in /hermes/bosweb/web227/b2270/ipw.lamplight/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 890

Any thoughts? I’m stumped because it was working fine before…..

    Thanks.

Try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 – 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.

I’ve tried both suggestions and it still does not work. Any suggestions? I had archived those original files as indicated in the error thinking it might be a “whitespace” issue, but it is not. Those files have not changed. What else would cause this? I’m banging my head against a wall.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
