    Hi there,

I’m having this odd problem where I can’t set an SKU for a product. I’ve tested this with a default WP theme and with all other plugins deactivated.

Actually, it is that I can set an SKU, but not the one I want it to be. I can only assume from all this that the system thinks my attempt to set the SKU I want is a duplicate.

I have checked thoroughly. There are no products with the same SKU, not published, draft or deleted.

I’ve had a search in the database but am not sure where SKU data is stored.

    Can you offer any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    James

    Hello James @reallygreenjames,

You may want to clear the product/shop transients cache under WooCommerce > Status > Tools.

The SKU location in the database is in the wp_postmeta table where meta_key = '_sku'.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the advice.

I found out that there was a product variation using the SKU that I needed. Pilot error!
