    Hi,
I am asking for a client that experienced suddenly problems. After doing preparing a new newsletter in the backend MP does not work anymore. The whole site is broken, I had to deactivate the plugin. He also has no more access to the PRO-Version, therefore I cannot retrieve his license. He does not remember his login to PRO. Sorry. ??

I deactivated all other plugins and activated the twentytwentyfour theme. PHP was updated (WAS: 7.4, IS: 8.1) The problem still remains.

There seems to be a bug in the database. How can I fix that?

I am glad about any ideas. Thanks!
    Raphael

Here is the information that MP displays:

    Hi there @rabox66 ????!

Thank you for reaching out to MailPoet Support!

Can you try the solution proposed in this article: How to Fix General Error: 2006 MySQL Server has Gone Away

    Cheers!

Hi, thanks for the answer, but it does not help. ??

The support of the hosting says, that I cannot change those informations as you suggested. The support suggested to reinstall the plugin. But that does not change the problem either.

As the plugin completely destroys the frontend while it is activated, I cannot use it at all.

The problem also remains, if all other plugins are deactivated and the theme twentytwentyfour is used.

Sorry,. As far as I can see, I cannot use MP anymore. ??

    Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear the issue persists.

The support of the hosting says, that I cannot change those informations as you suggested. The support suggested to reinstall the plugin. But that does not change the problem either.

When you tried to re-install the plugin, did you do it via FTP as per these instructions. If not, can you give it a try?

Thanks for the answer. I installed it directly from the repository. Does it make a difference, if I install it via FTP? If so, I caqn try that.

    Hi again,

That would be great. Please give it a try and keep us posted afterward.

OK, I uploaded the plugin via FTP and there was no change. The problem remains. Sorry. It seems to be a problem of the database, not of the plugin itself.

Hi, I could find the bug. It is more than strange. ?? The website used Mailpoet PRO (or at least had it installed and activated) but had no licence. That is why the site owner did not know his login to the account. Very strange.

I am happy that the problem is resolved. But please tell me one thing: How can he have the PRO-Plugin installed without having a licence? Does that mean, that he had a licence once, but it is now outdated?

    Thanks

    Hi,
it is stranger than strange. Today the error is back. I really have no idea what to so. I will now do as Dani F. a11n suggested.

    Thanks

    Hi @rabox66 ????

How can he have the PRO-Plugin installed without having a licence?

Yes, some of our legacy-free plans allowed users to install the MailPoet Premium version too. That’s good because they will allow the users with these plans to use the MailPoet Premium features. But it doesn’t mean they can access Premium support.
