Problem upgrading to 3.8 (Database update denied)
-
Hi all. I hadn’t updated WordPress for quite some time, and this evening I went to add a new blog post for first time in a while, and although everything appeared fine, I was unable to create any new posts.
So, without thinking I just clicked on the ‘Update to 3.8’ button for an automatic update. It all appeared to go well initially, with a message saying I needed to upgrade my database. I clicked the button to do so and then got the following error message.
WordPress database error: [UPDATE command denied to user 'mylogindetails'@'myhost' for table 'wp_options'] UPDATE
wp_options
SET
option_value
= '1' WHERE
option_name
= 'link_manager_enabled' WordPress database error: [UPDATE command denied to user 'mylogindetails'@'myhost' for table 'wp_options'] UPDATE
wp_options
SET
option_value
= '26691' WHERE
option_name
= 'db_version' WordPress database error: [UPDATE command denied to user 'mylogindetails'@'myhost' for table 'wp_options'] UPDATE
wp_options
SET
option_value
= '1' WHERE
option_name
= 'db_upgraded'
Now, here’s the thing. WordPress HAS updated as when I visit my blog I get the new quick links at the top of the screen, however when I try to visit the dashboard I get the same ‘update database’ message followed by this error above, in a constant stuck loop.
Any advice appreciated to help me hopefully fix this! ??
