• Hi, I have a number of illustrations that I want to display on my site but when I upload, sometimes the colours are off and fluorescent, it makes them look really rubbish and I’m getting frustrated. I was recently using a watermark plugin which I thought was the problem, but I’ve deleted that and I’m still having the same issue. I am using the Salient theme. I’m hoping it’s something simple as I’m a bit of a novice. ??

  • What image format are you uploading, jpg, gif, png, tiff.
Also how big are the initial images.
It might be that the image are being compressed once uploaded.

Have you tried reducing the file size and saving them for the web using Photoshop before you upload?
Can you provide a link on your sire where this happens so we can see the image?

I have exported them from illustrator as jpgs. I just tried to export them as a smaller size (700 kb) and uploaded it but it hasn’t made a difference.

The most obvious one is the ‘mooniverse’ picture.

I PASTED A PRINTED TABLE FROM WORD INTO PAINT AND CONVERTED IT TO JPG. HOWEVER I CANNOT INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE JPG IMAGE IN MY WEBSITE WITHOUT STRETCHING THE CORNERS, WHICH MAKES THE PRINTING FUZZY. HOW CAN I INSERT A LARGER IMAGE INTO MY WEBSITE?

@gfalbel please start your own thread. Your question is not relevant to the current issue.
Please also do not use all caps as this is seen as shouting and rude.

If you are working with illustrator, I would do the following.
Save the file as an eps. Open the eps in Photoshop. Reduce the image to the desired size in pixel and then use save for the web feature. Once in that screen, you can see if gif or png is better.

You’re right that the mooniverse does look much different from the others.

Your illustrations are great by the way.
