    Hello all,

A bug of sorts has appeared on my site. Comments work fine for site visitors, but if I want to edit a comment that has already been submitted. WordPress somehow adds “escape” characters beside each quote mark and apostrophe, including in URIs.

Clearly, whatever filter thatb WordPress uses to ensure valid code, is being applied at the wrong point or perhaps twice. Can anyone suggest why this might be happening? I haven’t installed any plug-ins which change the comments in any way.

  • I’m kind of new in this wp thing, and I have not played much with it yet. However your problem makes me thing of the option you will find under Options->Writing that tells wp to correct invalidly nested HTML tags or something like that.
Do you have that option checked? If you do, then try unchecking it.
Just a thought. I hope it helps.

update to 2.0.4, or install the tuneup plugin.

Youre much better updating, btw.. read this:
