• Ok, so I have followed all the best practice documents when moving my wp blog from the root to a subdomain on the same server. The blog is working for the most part but a few annoying things remain which probably is an indication that all is not ok.

    1. My media files (uploaded to the media library) does not show despite that their links are changed. I can access them and edit them but no show anyway. And looking in the media library all thumbnails does not show.

    2. some of my installed plugins does not show their icons (i get the little red cross). For example the SEO by Yoast in the bottom of my main admin page. The plugin seems to be working however.

Generally many thumbnails and icons in the admin interface shows only the redcross. I am using the 2012 theme that came with wp.
FYI, I have used the Velvet Blues Update URLs – plugin.

    Thanks for any hints.

Hmm, maybe the problem is that the Blue Velvet Update Url plugin is NOT compatible with wp ver 3.3.2? Anybody used the Velvet plug-in with 3.3.2?

When you moved your files, did you also go in the database and change all instances of https://www.domainname.com to subdomain.domainname.com?

Isn’t that what the Blue Velvet plug-in is supoosed to do? This plug-in is recommended in the wordpress guide.

I have been following the document provided here at wordpress to the point and yet it didn’t work. Have anybody had any problems when following the advice on https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Moving_WordPress and under the heading “When Your Domain Name or URLs Change”. To dare starting the move again I need some feedback. Thanks.
