• Hi there,
I have upgraded from thesis 1.8.3 to 2.1:

1.- Download Thesis 2.1 to my local drive
2.- From within WordPress (Thesis 1.8.3) I upload Thesis 2.1 zip (Themes installation page).
3.- Activate Thesis 2.1 but it does not work. It seems to be ok but I realize some functions lack in the dropdown menus.
4.- Download wpc_thesis file to my local drive. It is supposed to solve installation issues.
5.- Upload (through fillezilla) unzipped wpc_thesis files (boxes, packages, skins, master) to my server: wp-content/thesis as stated in DIY (this folder is different from wp-content/themes/thesis where Thesis 1.8.3 folder is and where Thesis 2.1 seems to be installed in a folder named thesis).
6.- Once I activate Thesis 2.1, it seems to be ok (the missing dropdown functions appear), but when I make changes (link colors, one or two colummns,…) nothing happens. Thesis 2.1 does not activate the changes I make.
7.- Upload to wp-content/themes/thesis the 1.8.3 custom folder. I change the file permissions for “cache” from 755 to 775. I change the file permissions for layout.css from 644 to 666.
8.- I activate again thesis 2.1 but nothing changes.

It seems to be upgraded, it seems everything is in its place but nothing happens when I try to change link color, column number, content width, sidebar width,…

Please, could anyone tell me how can I fix this issue. Thanks in advance.

    Hi salvadorfigueros

Did you find a solution to this?
I have the same issue, in addition, my site is not displaying at all.

    Thanks

    Hi Kate,

In my case, everything was apparently in place but thesis 2.1 could not start. Then, after pressing F5 key a lot, lot, lot of times it suddenly started.

Anyway, I recommend you to post your problem in DIYthemes forums. I did it and Chris Pearson (Thesis creator) gave me the guidelines.

    Salva
