Problem wiht updating to WordPress 4.0

    is your php updated in your server ?

    Thank you for your quick reply doomaan.
    I am hosting with Hostgator and was able in a past update to a new wersion of WordPress on a different account, so my guess will be that yes, they do support zip file.
    How do I update php? Sorry…I am not very technical.
