problem with accessing files … related to permalinks

I recently tried changing my permalinks to date and name based, rather than the default permalink format, but I think that jacked up the way other files on my host are viewed. At least, that’s the only correlation I can think of…the ability to view/download files on my server changed when I changed the permalink format. I have since changed it back but the files are still inaccessible.

For instance, blog address is https://www.wannaberockstar.net . I have a picture in the main directory that I had as my profile pic: https://www.wannaberockstar.net/rockstar.jpg . I can’t get this picture now. Instead, it just redirects to the homepage. I also have an audio directory. When I try to get the files in the audio directory via https://www.wannaberockstar.net/audiodirectory/filename.mp3 again, I’m am redirected back to the homepage (that’s a bogus link above put only for example…nothing there).

I am on version 2.1.3.
