• Unable to upload YouTube video. Had no problem with other WP but this one. Maybe its a bug with the version. When I click on the add media button in write new page, a greyed out screen is followed by a white box which doesnt load properly. It is too low on the page to enter your details and the submit button is not visible. Have tried refreshing many times to no avail. Anyone know the problem?

I have the same problem on 3 sites I have designed, It appears to be a bug that is not calling the media-upload.php.

I have temporarily got around this by typing the following into the browser
    https://your blog address/wp-admin/media-upload.php?

In other words when you press insert media button check the browser info I can almost guarantee it will stop at wp-admin/post-new.php

so delete post-new.php and replace with media-upload.php

A bit messy I know but if anybody can sort out the bug I would appreciate it..

Interskill is right. I addressed this same issue in my post titled: ‘media-uploader.php breaks”. I have no immediate solution nor have I yet received a reply to the message that was posted five days ago. Don

    Hi,

I’m also having some problems with the media-upload, although in my case I can browse to the media, but the uploader stops prematurely and warns of an “HTTP error”. I’m getting this for all photos of any size (ie. my first guess was that the files must be too big) even at 150×150 px .jpg.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this a well known bug? If so, is there a work around?

In case it matters, I’m running the latest version of WP on an XP machine.

    Cheers!

Much to my frustration, I just tried the Image Upload HTTP Error Fix plugin, but it didn’t seem to work.

    Thoughts?

I too am not able to link (or upload) a YouTube video. The Word Press upload came with a Bon Jovie video I want to replace and when I put the new you tube URL link over the existing Bon Jovie link and upload, it seems to work fine.

Then when I go to open the home page, it getw hung up at the fifth bar on the progress graphic.

I don’t need to have a copy of the You Tube file, I just want to link to to it.

    What’s the solution?

    Thanks,
    Jim
