    Hey guys!

I love the plugin, but I think there could be a problem with tracking of AMP pages.

We use Koko Analytics and Google Analytics. Google Analytics only tracks about 60% of our traffic because 40% of our visitors don’t agree to cookies. So the impressions tracked by Google Analytics are lower than the impressions tracked by Koko (we use Koko without cookies).

    We did an A/B test:

    Period 1 (AMP deactivated)
    Google Analytics: 43k impressions
    Koko: 66k impressions
–> More impressions in Koko, everything fine

    Period 2 (AMP activated)
    Google Analytics: 50k impressions
    Koko: 48k impressions
–> More impressions in Google Analytics, which cannot be correct

I also checked the page impressions of an article we published yesterday. Koko says 2.000 impressions for that article, Google Analytics says 1.200 normal impressions and 3.800 AMP impressions. So 5.000 in total.

That doesn’t look correct, right? Do you have an idea? We use the “AMP for WP” Plugin for AMP.

Thanks a lot and happy New Year!

Are you using the official AMP plugin for WordPress? Koko Analytics should work out of the box with AMP powered pages when using that plugin.

Thanks for the fast answer! No, we don’t use the official AMP plugin, we use the “AMP for WP” plugin, which is much better in our opinion: https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/accelerated-mobile-pages/

I will ask Danny if he has ay plans to support alternate AMP plugins.

That would be absolutely great. I know AMP isnt the biggest topic anymore, but I know a few users of Koko who have the same problem and would highly appreciate if you could support the AMP for WP plugin.

At this time we are not planning to build in support for alternate AMP plugins. Maybe some day…

Too bad, but thanks for the help anyway! Maybe you can make it clear in the plugin description that Koko only works with the official AMP plugin and not with AMP pages in general.

    Best regards
