• Hello,

I use AddToAny and PDF & Print by BestWebSoft plugins and all was working fine (except the Facebook thumb).

I installed your plugin and it now allow to show a good thumb in Facebook but now also displaying “PDFImprimer” string at the end what was not the case before.

You can see what I mean at following URLs:

    https://twitter.com/ecollart/status/1098183086112690176
    https://www.facebook.com/LiPtiFouineu/

In addition, Twitter seems now trying to add an image, it was not the case previously.
You can just check previous posts to see how it was before installing your plugin.

I hope it is a minor problem that can be solved as I want to keep using your plugin.

As an enhancement request, it would be nice if we could add the picture we want for each post individually instead of a generic picture for all posts (what is already better than before but not really what I was looking for).

It’s a pity that WordPress can’t cope better with Facebook that I don’t like but have no choice to use…

SEO plugin are by far too complicated for me; so is the damned OpenGraph Facebook tyranic requirements !

Thanks for the job already done and your time spent to help junior WordPress lost users !

    Howdy,

Sorry for the late reply. Recovering from surgery :-/

I have no idea what PDFImprimer is or why that string is injecting itself into the open graph description meta.

Does the problem go away when you disable the AddToAny and PDF & Print plugins? If so, there is some sort of conflict. I have a gut feeling (maybe I’m wrong) that one of those plugins already handles open graph meta, in which case there’s no need to use mine.

Regarding Twitter trying to add an image, that is correct (part of the most recent update). But for some reason, the image is not being picked up for it on your theme (view the homepage source and you’ll see several og: properties are empty) which is very odd.

Honestly, this is one of those things that is going to be too much trouble to try and diagnose just for a single user. I can’t fault the plugin on any of the 15 production websites I use it on.

But if this becomes a problem for several users I will at least look into it. But for now, I suggest trying an alternative plugin.

    Hello,

I wish you a quick recovery.

Thanks for your reply; I understand your point of view but I can’t continue like this so I uninstalled you plugin and I am back to previous situation (FB not picking up the right picture).

Your plugin was only giving a partial solution to my problem as only 1 picture can be used for all posts share to Facebook and not a picture by post.

Tyranic Facebook use of OpenGrapgh and lack of good interface with WordPress makes the problem really annoying but I prefer posting shit in FB than putting my WordPress site at risk (or becoming slave of FB requirements)…

Anyway, I can only thank you for efforts you made by providing your plugin to the community but it doesn’t respond to my problem (bad luck for me…)

I wish you all the best !
