• Hi there,

On this site, I’m having problems with the cache directory. I’m getting various messages including “Could not delete any cached files. Please manually flush the cache directory.”,
“Warning: Cache directory /nas/content/live/strandvet/wp-content/plugins/bwp-minify/cache/ does not exist and can not be created automatically. Please manually create the cache folder and make sure that it is writable for Minify to perform more efficiently.” and “WP Minify was not able to auto-detect friendly url based on Minify’s current cache directory (/nas/content/live/strandvet/wp-content/plugins/bwp-minify/cache/).”

I have double checked and the cache folder does exist and is writable, but the only file in there is .htaccess.

I tried setting up the cache folder in an alternative location – /nas/content/live/strandvet/wp-content/cache/minfy – but have the same issue. I got my host, WPEngine to double check and permissions are all OK on those folders.

I’ve successfully used bwp minify before, but haven’t struck this. Hope you can help.

    Cheers,

    Sandra

    Hi Sandra,

Is your previous site (on which BWP Minify was installed successfully) also on WPEngine?

Are Minify path and Minify document root still having their default values?

    Hi,

Yes, I’ve used BWP Minify successfully on WPEngine before.

I’ve changed the document root back to the default value, but it broke the site, so have the minify options unchecked in General Settings for now. I have set up a staging site here where I’m still having the same cache folder issues, but the site is working with JS and CSS minified, so that might be easier for you to troubleshoot.

What is the Minify document root on your staging site? What did you set Minify document root to on the live site?

On the live site it is /nas/content/live/strandvet/wp-content/plugins/bwp-minify/cache/ (changing the directory didn’t help)
    Staging site is /nas/content/staging/strandvet/wp-content/plugins/bwp-minify/cache/

Sorry I meant the WordPress document root found under Minify library settings.

    /nas/wp/www/sites/strandvet
    and
    /nas/wp/www/staging/strandvet
