Problem with Changing Splash Button and Pictures Showing on Posts

    Hello,

    I’m setting up my site and ran into a problem. I want the splash screen button to appear with this color: #aa1e0f. I changed it under Customer – Colors – Splash Page Button, but it won’t change.

    I also was wondering about the blog, which points to my Writing Tips and Prompts https://baerbookspress.com/?page_id=3638. The picture doesn’t show with the extract. Is there a way for it to appear? Along with the posts, is there a place where instead of the excerpt having just elipsis, it would show a button to read more?

    Hi Denise,

    For the button, first thing that you need to do is on the link for the button on your menu, make sure the “class” field is showing there and then type in:

    splash-button

    Then, for an override of colour of the button, go to the customizer >> Colours >> Splash Page Button colour setting and change it to the colour you want.

    Not quite sure I fully understand the second part (question), you post has an image but not showing in the intro part?

    For the intro to have a button instead of the ellipsis, this theme is not coded for that. However, if you change the setting to not use excerpts, then you can eliminate that and have a Continue Reading link (although it’s not a button) show. You can find this setting in the customizer > Theme Options > Blog Settings

    Thank you so much. I’ve been working on two of my websites, migrating, and then setting up themes that my brain went a bit haywire. It’s all good now. I appreciate it. I changed the blog settings, unsure of how much will show before the continue reading link appears, but I’m good with it all.
