problem with coding ISO-8859-1 in wordpress 2.7

  • Hi, i did upgrade to 2.7, wordpress es_ES, i working with coding ISO-88591-1, the file .mo and .po are in UTF-8, in dashbar i see special charter in spanish caracter, who can i do to converter the .mo and .po to coding ISO-8859-1 ?

  • Hmm… i’d prefer to convert my whole site into UTF-8, but haven’t found a way, I recall translating those .mo and .po before, but you need a program for those, i must research again.

    Oh, now i recall, you need a program named UltraEdit and PoEdit.

    Open the .po file in UE.

    then

    File > Convert > UTF-8 to Ascii

    Change where it says UTF-8 for iso-8859-1,save, open with PoEdit,check the setting, it must say iso-8859-1.

    Save and upload, that must be an iso file in spanish.

    Oh, btw, i used the es_Es translation from es.www.ads-software.com

    myuption i resolve the problem with PoEdit only.
    The new spanish blogs i wiil setting in UTF-8.
