Problem with Contact Form 7 ?

I was unable to reproduce this problem using Contact Form 7 (5.4), Smart Slider 3 (3.4.1.16) on Twenty Twenty theme (1.6).

Which theme are you using? If you switch back to Twenty Twenty do you still see the problem?

Hello Romana, thank you for answering me. I am using a Cherry theme version: 3.1.5.1 with a 54792 child theme version: 3.1.2 . I am not using the default WP theme, I mean it is not physically in my confuguration. Here is a URL that does not work well: https://villa-clarte.com/en/contact-reserver/
You will notice a large elongated white rectangle under “clear send” which is new ! Otherwise, the messaging works! See you later

The page is full of JavaScript errors. You can check the errors like this:

JavaScript errors stop every other JavaScript code that should run after them, and prevent them from working, so they need to be solved. I think Contact Form 7 uses JavaScript to display the spinner, so any JavaScript error will stop that from working.

Usually the first error is responsible for the others, so I recommend solving that first.
This is the first error:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property 'touchstart' of undefined
coming from:
https://villa-clarte.com/wp-content/themes/CherryFramework/js/jquery.mobile.customized.min.js
which is a file of your theme.

Try installing and activating another theme (like a WordPress Default, Twenty* theme) and see if you still see any errors. At least the one from the theme won’t occur anymore, so there’s a good chance the others won’t happen either.

So I recommend contacting your theme to learn the best way of solving this JavaScript error.

A clarification, the white rectangle is with my Firefox browser, with Opera not. I have the arrow that turns to infinity (yet the message is sent)

Ramona thank you for these lines of work. If I find a satisfactory solution, I will let you know (as well as on the CF7 forum because several people have this problem!)

I am using Autoptimize and in the “JavaScript Options” section, I unchecked “Concatenate JS files”. And now everything is working.

Combining JavaScript files may cause problems for certain JavaScript codes.
Anyways, since the problem is caused by Autoptimize, you could try excluding our files from Autoptimize as you see here:

then clear the cache and see if that makes any difference.

Note: if it causes JavaScript errors for other scripts, too then that may stop the other codes ( including the slider’s ) once again.
