I have contact with the support team of braintree and they told me that this issue is occurring during the 3D Secure lookup: “RESPONSE 422 {\”error\”:{\”message\”:\”Billing given name format is invalid.\
Billing surname format is invalid.\”},\”threeDSecureInfo\”:{\”liabilityShifted\”:false,\”liabilityShiftPossible\”:false}}” and the 3D Secure does not accept non-ASCII characters and as such is throwing errors due to the given name and the surname values.

    Hey?@k0b32010,

Thanks for writing to us about our plugin! I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. I’m sorry to hear about this 3D secure error. I’d be happy to help out here. ??

I’d like to have a closer look and test this out locally to try to replicate the error. Would you please share a sample first and last name that triggers this error so I can give it a try on my test site?

    Thanks,

    Tamara

    Hey SkyVerge,

Thank you for your reply! I can see that I am passing: \”billingGivenName\”=>\”Χρηστο?\”, \”billingSurname\”=>\”Γκριζη?\”

And the js console on chrome shows the following error when i try to make a payment on sandbox: POST https://api.sandbox.braintreegateway.com/merchants/k99tkzrwdrwwmxrh/client_api/v1/payment_methods/tokencc_bh_9hnvy8_yrfvsr_n9hkkh_98r4jv_pyz/three_d_secure/lookup 422 (Unprocessable Entity)

    Hey @k0b32010,

Thanks so much for sharing the extra details here.

I’ve done some testing on my own local development site and I can replicate the issue you’re having. Thank you so much for reporting this to us!

I’ve added this to our issue tracker for the developers to get this patched up. While I don’t have an estimated time for resolution right now, please know that our team is now aware of the issue and will work to incorporate a fix into the plugin as soon as they can.

I will keep an eye out for updates from our development team and keep you in the loop with any news. I’ll send a pre-release if one becomes available.

Thanks again for the report! Could I help you with any other questions?

    Thanks,

    Tamara

Thank you for taking this issue under consideration for fixing it in the future. I want to ask what’s the estimate time for fixing the issue? I want to know so that I can stay with your plugin only with paypal payments and later add credit cards for my customer’s website.

    Hey @k0b32010,

While I can’t offer a specific ETA for the fix here as it’s hard to know just how complex of a change is required, I can say that our development team has already started looking into this and discussing it internally ??

We do our best to fix up issues like these as quickly as possible to ensure all customers can start processing payments as soon as possible and I suspect that we’ll have an update out in a couple of weeks’ time most likely. I’m sorry I don’t have a more concrete timeline for you here!

Could I help you with any other questions in the meantime?

    Cheers,

    Tamara

    Hey @k0b32010,

I wanted to update you here to let you know that our development team is working closely with the Braintree team to get this fixed up as it’s not something our plugin can directly address.

If the Braintree team isn’t able to fix this on their end in the next few weeks, our team will add some additional notices to the Checkout to let customers know why this error is occurring.

In any case, I’ll be sure to update you as things unfold ??

I’m going to mark this as resolved but if you experience other issues or have further questions, please feel free to open a new thread or contact support through our site.

    Thanks,

    Tamara
